What Kind of Sex Blog Am I?
For those of us who have too many fantasies in our head to write a decent post this morning, have writer’s block, have spine-splitting cramps and feel completely asexual, or are just sucker’s for multiple choice quizzes that force us into a category (like polyamory or swingers).
NOTE: The article at Sexerati is truly worth reading. This quiz is more of a footnote on what is a terrific question about the nature of sex blogging. I actually stumbled into blogging about sex when I began a different blog. Writing about sex was a natural progression and evolution of the type of writing I was doing on the other blog. Plus, the “research” is MUCH more fun for this blog (”obsession,” says J).
I find the religious suggestive amusing in my result on this little quiz on Sexerati, though I would have added “my lover is my co-conspirator in helping me come up with experiences/ideas for posts.”
Erotic confessional. And your contribution to the future of sex? Liveblogging sex.

Well, the charming Rachel says mine is a sex blog, and I write about sex as it applies to love, but I’m not any definition of a sex worker I can wrap my mind around. Not too many who’d pay good money for sex from a 269 year-old American revolutionary.

Sex is a topic best approached on many different angles–the practice of which is also enriched with that mantra.
It just ultimately means there is a niche and a conversation for each of us to engage in and publish with confidence, even 269 year-old American revolutionaries…

Hmmmm. Lola, what does it say that I had the same result as you did in that cute little quiz?
Writing about sex seemed natural to me, since that’s the part of my life that I needed to explore, and was unable to share the exploration with those around me. I think my personal journey has evolved since then, but the nature of the blog reflects the needs and moods of the blogger, I think. If I start writing to suit the needs of the readers, I think my blog becomes something less personal and honest, and therefore less interesting to read.

It means the goodwill tour should have already gotten under way…
Seriously, the quiz is pretty simplistic. And, I got sidetracked with the question about the collar…started imagining my own that I haven’t worn in a while.
Honoring that personal journey is the best approach, I think. Which is why it’s just as valuable to say to your readers that there are real days like the one I mentioned above: when I’m cramping and feeling completely asexual…I’m just not on all the time, despite what the masses (and some lovers) would say.

I’m just not on all the time, despite what the masses (and some lovers) would say. Say it ain’t so, Lola!
